    Sole Survivor Trail Run

    Hello brave participants!

    here's the rules:

This unique race concept does not require you to the be the fastest, it only requires you to be the toughest.
At the top of every hour a 4-mile trail run will begin. Each runner is required to run this loop before the hour is up. Then, at the top of the next hour, you will all leave for the same 4-mile loop again.
    It's that easy.

The run will continue every hour until only one person remains. That final person will then have to complete one more 4-mile loop on their own at which point they will be the "finisher". All other entrants will be granted a "DNF" as they failed to run as far as the finisher.

This means the race may continue overnight and into the next day.

Male finishers and female finishers will be tracked separately, so there will be an overall winner for each gender.

Registration opens April 30th and will be inexpensive (as all Nomad events are). Don't miss out on this unique and challenging event!

This is an event for sadists, and that's coming from someone who has done 24 hours in the Sage solo.

With the wrong (right?) group, people will be at risk for death.

A modification of this format is to start each lap on a one hour and one minute pace. So after lap one, you start the next lap at one minute past the hour, after two laps you start at two past the hour.

The catch is you have to complete the lap before the top of the hour to stay in. It makes it a completely different kind of race - fastest wins. But it’s entertaining in that athletes approach all out efforts to remain in as the time wears on.

We used to do this as a swimming set - I haven’t seen this in a running race yet but think it would be entertaining.
