Back to the gravel patch. Summer and most of Sept was too hot for turns but finally some single digit (Celcius) overnight low temps brought the sand/gravel ski stoke back up. Recent rains groomed the gravel, turns were sublime. Tested out the new ski drag system for steeper bootpacks and some recent ski boot liner mods. Stoked to bring 'em both into some authentic snow tomorrow. Recent precip brought up to 30cms of fresh up on our local glacier. Fingers crossed for some real, authentic Sept. pow turns. It doesn't happen every year.
Master of mediocrity.

I headed out on a recon mission with Penny and Zooey after an early season storm dropped a few inches of snow in the mountains. We headed over to the beautiful and reliable east ridge of The Nipple. The snow we found was next season's fresh dust on last season's leftover crust.
As we were headed up, Powdork was heading back down with his crew and he took this photo of me bootpacking up.
