The article I read a couple years back was that at a minimum fake alcohol usually just crappy backwoods still but even sometimes poisonous wood alcohol was replacing real alcohol.

Add to that the possibility of outright robbery via druggings.

And top it off with a scheme to take gringos to the expensive pay now emergency medical facility.

And going to big tourist destinations sounds like dodging a gauntlet of dangerous scams.

My daughter’s behaviour when Daddy isn’t around to police is such that Mom and Gran are so exhausted after 10 days that such conspiracy doesn’t have a chance to take root. While I refuse to admit such things to the ladies, I think my little princess gets her looks from Mom’s side, but her attitude from mine heaven help my wife when daughter gets into teenage years!

When our son was about 15 months old we took our first trip without him. We handed him off to my MIL at the SLC airport and went on to Alta. We missed him terribly--for about 10 minutes, then we forgot about him for a week. And my wife was skiing 3 months pregnant. You gonna have us arrested?
