Nice Ski Storage Solution - Gladiator Gearwall & Twin Hooks
Experimented with some Gladiator Gearwall and various Gladiator hooks over the weekend in an effort to come up with a better ski storage solution. The Gladiator product is well made and the combination of their Gearwall product and their Twin Hooks (top 4 pairs of skis) seems like the perfect setup. Need to buy a few more twin hooks (6.5" wide) and put up some more gearwall for the remaining skis. In our previous garage I used Fastrack which was really nice too, but the gearwall solution gives you more flexibility.

Do you have a link to the product?

Looks nice and clean, but not getting the function of the wall panels. I have $1.99 Harbor Freight wall hooks screwed through the drywall and into the studs. Except for the panels, it looks and functions the same.

I think that lumber rack people jumped into n a couple months ago made more sense since it could hold 2pairs per rack

You can buy Gladiator online through Home Depot, fit my garage with the wall panels and the different hook/attachment options for my skis, bikes, golf clubs, lawn equipment, etc. and it’s saved me a ton of space. Really easy to install too.

I use these ^^ all over my gear room, they come in different lengths of wall track and different lengths of shelf bracket, so depending on width of the skis I can put 3 pairs of skis on a 16" rack or I can put partical board shelves on themLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

The great thing about it is the flexibility. I'm going to do some quiver pruning so I'll free up more space on this wall for all the kids stuff we are accumulating. We have a tight 2-car garage so I didn't want the hooks to extend much beyond the skis.
I ordered from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Gladiator-Gar...r+GarageWorks)...bought a Gladiator workbench and roller cabinet from Home Depot and they fucked up the order 2 times. When I went to pick up the 3rd order they picked the boxes and brought them out and then as I'm leaving they tried to give me the two previous orders for free (got lost in store). BTW, their workbench and cabinets are pretty sweet too.Last edited by Colorado_Freeskier; 06-04-2019 at 04:19 PM.

Big Dynastar fan eh? Great idea for storage. I'll have to rig something like that up in my garage. I've got ski gear everywhere.

I'd use those double hooks across the top hanging them all vertically by the tips instead of horizontally.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

I'll give vertical storage with the doubles a try...initially I only had a couple which is the only reason I put them horizontal.

If you stagger them top slot, lower slot, top slot to avoid the bindings hitting you can pack them more tightly together with the vertical plan.

Built a gearwall a few years back to help remedy some post ski-seasonal depression.

Looks nice, but if there aren’t skis on there, guaranteed every single fucking time I would nail my arm on those fittings as I passed....

1) gas fittings are not cheap.
2) that looks like a bunch of black dicks sticking out of your wall.
3) you will get pipe grease and rust all over your shit if your don’t paint those.

^^^ that’s funny. Into the fittings for about 40$, sprayed them with sealer so no grease and sure... I guess if that’s what you see

I'm in the lean-'em-up-against-the-wall school. I do hang ski poles from a hook, except for the pair my son cut the straps off of.
