Well, Kenny, about the only thing I can say to that stupid post, is that when you cross that old Red River, Hoss, it just don’t mean a thing....

Favorite because it hits close to home, for us all, eventually. See Gimp Central.

Crazy, by Willie or by Patsy Cline--one of my current favorites. Goodbye, by Steve Earle. The Road Goes on Forever--I like the Joe Ely version best, same with Whenever Kindness Fails (sorry Robert). Momma Tried, of course. Chris Knight, Down the River.
Of course this is a silly exercise. Ask me a different day, get a different answer.

Cuntry radio stations ruined it. Even the old stuff has been forever tainted by the shit that came after it. This stuff is a punchline, not something to be taken seriously.

I'll Go On Downtown - Robert Earl Keen
Rolling By - Robert Earl Keen
Living the Dream - Sturgill Simpson
Brace for Impact - Sturgill Simpson
Southside of Heaven - Ryan Bingham
My Diamond is too Rough - Ryan Bingham
If we're counting John Prine as country (always thought of him as Americana, and distinctly not country, but what-the-fuck-ever), then I'll add In Spite of Ourselves and Spanish Pipedream to my list.Last edited by glademaster; 05-30-2019 at 06:54 AM.

Right now I am digging the Meat Puppets wild country sound. If I want to listen to some classic country tunes I listen to the Grateful Dead. I hate Cuntry. With a passion. And it gives me hives. Time for some Benadryl.

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I favor women when it comes to more classic country.
Of course there's plenty of great women performers these days too.
