Mossejaw is selling the diamondback release 4c for roughly $2500 after applying 20% off code and 12% active junky cash back. Pretty sick deal. And it comes in red!

Sell me a mtb for a 511 195# that wont kill my bank account.

The specs on the release one arent great though, I think OP could get in to a much better bike used at that price imho

Super fun bikes, barely over your budget for new.
I always suggest people take a look at GG. I like that they're doing carbon in-house in Colorado. It doesn't hurt that the bikes are decently priced, ride really well, and that the company is operated by some really good folks. You don't have to take advantage of the seat-stay swapability, but it's a cool option if you ever want to change things up.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Yeah, I bought one of their older aluminum frames last year through a friend of a mag and I like it so much I'll probably buy another if I ever get sick of this one. Saw a similar one yesterday on CL for $1500.

Consider that fezzari someone mentioned. That is super dialed. Really like the geo on that. Great price and reviews on those. They are really focused on customer service. Theyll swap out whatever part you want of dont , if need be.
Local bike shop options, the norco optic and the kona's are good bang for the buck
