Greetings, fellow kids- any Switzerland scoops for summer?

Flying in/out of Zurich and making our way down to Nice to mooch off the FIL. Thinking interlaken, chamonix, where else? Other suggestions very much appreciated.

We are semi-outdoorsy and totally uncoordinated. In decent shape though-

who do you think you are? You abandon us for months with nary a hello, then think you can waltz right back in here and ask us to dispense with our hard-earned wisdom?

Ok, yeah, I guess you can do that. But I got nothing, I spent all my travel money on loafers.

We enjoyed hiking around Grindelwald, Gimmelwald, Murren, Wengen in the Bernese alps. Interlaken is relative lowlands. The hike from the Jungfraujoch to the Monch hut and back was fun--possiblyly more risk from crevasses and seracs and sudden weather change than we realized--we did it in full-on gaper style--shorts floppy sun hat etc etc. The train through the Eiger is a must.

Just came to type: if you're going to Interlaken, you have to go to Grindelwald...and take the Jungfraujoch. Spendy...but worth it.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

    Train https://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html ZRH to http://www.gasthaus-goescheneralp.ch ,
Serigna can arrange pickup from train. Incredible views, great hikes, classic Swiss Hutte fare and drink.

Serigna's partner, Danny, runs http://www.andermatt-guides.ch/EN who can recommend hikes, climbs, activities.

Back down to Goeschenen, hop the cog rail up to Andermatt. Sn00t around the Chedi in your best loafers, spa-out and feed on gourmando grub.

Take Glacier Express from Andermatt, stopping off at http://www.mt-lodge.com to say hi to Michele, enjoy walks, tram rides, mtn bikes, spas treatments, food, wine, superb espresso around Rueras.

Continue on Glacier Express to St. Moritz. Take a room either at either Badrutt's Palace or get a recommendation from Michele who is well versed in all things St. Moritz. Swim, sail, spa, hike, bike, tram, eat and rub up against the worlds wealthy.

Then train to Milan, then Torino, then Grenoble, to Nice.

Or more direct, go through Geneva, down to Annecy and just hang out there for a few days.

    Great food, relaxation.

Either zip straight down to Nice from there or take a detour to Briancon for a couple of days.

Annecy has a bike trail around the lake, which most non bikers could navigate fairly easily, and now that e bikes are getting popular, I'll bet somebody rents them somewhere on the lake. Hell, you could do one of the serious climbs coming off the lake fairly easily on one of those things.

If you stay in Interlaken, a trip to the Schilthorn and a drink (or lunch) at the Piz Gloria is worth the view.

What is this Interkraken that everybody is talking about? Worth visiting and taking a closer look? Logistics being my main concern, like, when is the last train leaving and if the tunnel is closed.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.
