    Bar-b-qued Cheese

    Yes, cheese!

A friend of mine who is a dairy farmer and cheese maker (Walla Walla Cheese Company) introduced me to a cheese they make called Halloumi which is great for grilling all by itself (they make it from cows milk but it can also be sheep and/or goat).

    Anyone tried grilling cheese?

Halloumi has been a grilling staple for years. Try grilling it then drizzling some honey on it, sprinkle some sea salt, and then eating it with good crusty bread.

Gonna have to check that out, I'd never heard of it. Thanks. The article says it's similar to paneer, which I've had before, but I didn't realize it wouldn't melt either.

I think I'd like my no-melt cheese topped with some pre-melted cheese.

Also, bread cheese if you're a fan of halloumi.

found a new to me cheese a month a go marketed as new product called "Paneer" which also does not melt. It's been great addition to BBQ kabobs and also as a stuffing component in some oven meats.

    Quick google search:

"Paneer is a fresh cheese common in the Indian subcontinent. It is an unaged, non-melting farmer cheese made by curdling milk with a fruit- or vegetable-derived acid, such as lemon juice. Its acid-set form is called chhena"

Ballard cheese company makes an excellent halloumi that's great pan seared or grilled too. Tasty and salty.

My hot dog w/ ramen recipe is a crowd pleaser.

Take 1 hot dog, grilled(leftover one from last night's bbq is fine.) Cook 1 pkg of ramen noodles, drain thoroughly, toss in a saute pan with hot dog slices stirring until ramen is slightly crispy. Garnish with fresh chives.

Adding some grilled halloumi could send this next level.

The chives are a classy touch.
