Thanks for the links, that's great that you've resurrected the White Knuckle brand! Is Scott G. still involved? I have a Yama V2 but like Frederic said, never really felt right on it. Felt like the tail was broken frankly, but that was an early handmade Mike L. special.

Scott is involved as our spiritual advisor! But he's only a phone call away when we seek his vast knowledge of ski building and engineering.
Plus he will always be our mentor, guru and best buddy.
The latest "traditional" monoskis by CODA are completely different than the Lish era V.0 series so worth trying his new shapes and early rise shovels. Chad is solid...we use his sublimated ink printer a lot!Custom hand made Monoskis in Washington. www.whiteknucklemonoskis.com

Ha, good ol Turbo Turner. Met and skied with him at a Monopalooza many years ago. We were trying to get his rocket powered monoski going at Copper. What a riot...super cool guy...super crazy skier!!

Hello to everybody
I am sorry, but it's not very easy for me to talk with you in your language and not mine: sometime I don't understand very well what you say, and surely sometime I don't say exactly in english what I think in french... And the topic went in two directions, performances on piste and of-piste.
So at first I said that my monoskis where at most made to be performant on piste, but that is not why they don't work in powder snow. Of course they will be less effective in it than a special powder board, but as I said I think a classic camber works perfectly in powder if bindings are at the right place, not two forward. When monoski has been invented in the 1970th it was only for powder (Duret Powder machine near 1978), because the 65mm skis of this time didn't get out at all in powder. Monoski has been the first machine that got out in powder, and its camber was classic...
And I said too that I wanted my monoskis to be performant but easy to ride too. And the first feed-back I had from all those who tried them was that my goal was reached. All said that my boards where very effective, but very easy and playful too.
That doesn't mean other brands are not effective or not playful. Just that I tried to have the best compromise between these 2 feature, that seem at first to be opposite.

Camber is all that makes a board (ski, snowboard, monoski) alive.
All my life I have considered that my boards where dead when camber was flat. And now there are new boards with flat camber, or worst inverted! Complete horror...

One of my ski buds is a monohead. He has several Snowsharks from Camaro Island, WA - John Carpenter there is a good guy.
You started a monoski thread. You have presented very little information about what you are actually doing or building. It is natural to discuss all brands and styles.Last edited by DaveTV; 05-16-2019 at 08:48 AM.

It's natural for people who are not implicated in monoskis building...
My goal is to make boards better than other brands, but it's not up to me to compare them. It's up to users.
That is why I told that all users who tasted them at the moment said they where very good. But if I talk about other brands my opinion can't be neutral. Particularly because my opinion depends on my all tastes, that are not necessary the same than everybody.

Hey a3fvideo, cool flick,
i like how the tail works on your boards.
i guess the monoski-tail flexpattern & shape is more important than for skis.
and one guy is commenting on it : )

Hey nordekette
Pleased to read this: tail is the most important thing I worked on for my boards, and the way it works is particularly what I wanted to show with the video: well see...
You are completely right about the different shape needed by a monoski versus a ski.
