365 Things To Do In Washington State

#193 - Admire the rugged beauty of Cape Flattery. Hike along the boardwalk through the misty forest to see sea-stacks, caves and coves in this magical corner of northwest WA. (Photo via Beautiful Washington)

Would that be the north face of Rainier - eg, Curtis Ridge, the Willis Wall, Liberty Ridge, and Ptarmigan Ridge?

I've tied up there a couple of times when chartering out of B-ham. It's incredibly beautiful with very aggressive raccoons! Also crazy tidal action getting in and out of the harbor on the east side even in a bigger boat with motors and stuff.

Took a Boy Scout troop camping there on a week kayaking trip. Those raccoons are insane. Everywhere and scared of nothing.

Okay... how about Skagit Island? I've kayaked there and camped. Never saw any racoons.

Or Clark? Been there too - nice!

Never been to Skagit, but did a night at Clark on the same Boy Scout trip. Loved the rocky beach on Clark.

Clark and Skagit look cool! My recollection is we left the boat at the dock to walk the island one afternoon, fairly well but not completely closed up. Maybe left open a cracked window. Came back to find it completely ransacked! Oops.

365 Things To Do In Washington State

#200 - Some of Washington's most pristine wilderness areas can be found along the International Selkirk Loop. The 208-mile loop offers solitude and magnificent scenery as it meanders from northeast WA into British Columbia then back to the US via Idaho. The lakes, rivers and trails are a vast, uncrowded playground with countless opportunities for outdoor recreation, scenic beauty and small town charm. (Photo via International Selkirk Loop)

365 Things To Do In Washington State

#202 - Find Blue Lake, tucked beneath the impressive Early Winters Spires along the North Cascades Highway. A 2.5 mile hiking trail will lead you to the shimmering waters of Blue Lake in no time, offering a scenic resting spot surrounded by soaring walls of granite. Go in fall to see the larch trees turning gold. (Photo by Beautiful Washington)

365 Things To Do In Washington State

#204 - Be amazed by the scenery in the Pasayten Wilderness. Full of long ridges and sweeping meadows, this portion of Okanogan Country is stunning from early summer through fall. See the trees changing colors with Amphitheater Mountain in the background. (Photo via Adventures NW magazine)

365 Things To Do In Washington State

#208 - Find Lime Kiln Point State Park located on San Juan Island. Known as 'whale watch park' this is a great place to glimpse resident orca whales from the rocky shoreline...it's also a nice place to watch the sunset. (Photo via Visit San Juans)

Love the Pasayten, those mountains just scream "SKI ME!" Harts Pass holds a special place in my heart as one of the few locations in Washington where you can get into the mountains without an approach like the Bataan Death March.
