It's super creepy how you stalk KQ on this forum with these passive aggressive posts, MakersTele. None of us are here for this weirdness.

365 Things to do in Washington State

#231 - Don't miss the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival happening September 10-12, 2021. Enjoy the beachfront park and celebrate the historic lighthouse which has been guiding mariners around Mukilteo since 1906. Saturday night fireworks illuminating the night sky over Puget Sound are always a highlight of the festival and fun for all ages. More info here: https://bit.ly/384OHzT

from the US Dept of Interior FB page:

    Speechless. Astounded. Awestruck.

There aren't enough words to describe the feeling hikers experience when they first see Mount Rainier. With over 260 miles of maintained trails, Mount Rainier National Park offers adventurers access to some of the most epic mountain views on earth.

In July, hiker Raymond Stiehl and their hiking partner, trekked up a few miles to the Grand Park area, where Raymond captured this stunning moment. “This area is so massive I always spend a few hours having dinner and just enjoying this view of the mountain.” Summers are short in the high country at Mount Rainier, which make this fleeting experience even more special.

#228 - Visit the historic Pataha Flour Mill located in the heart of the Palouse region in southeast Washington. This area is famous for growing wheat on a large scale, and this historic mill is a great place to stop and learn the workings of a flour mill and about the agricultural region the wheat is harvested from. I’m still trying to figure out how to pronounce Pataha

Think of it like Hawaiian - pronounce every vowel.

Luckily the ferry workers didn't hold their sickout Labor Day weekend but just the threat kept most tourists away and all boats less than 1/4 full on all runs. Unfortunately they've called the strike for this weekend, starting yesterday afternoon putting one boat (of three) out of service canceling several sailings and leaving 10 cars in Anacortes when the last boat left after 11pm. This morning two boats were out of service leaving one boat to stop at all the islands with no set schedule. This afternoon they added a second boat but there is still no set schedule, get in line and hope the boat stops in the next few hours. They're having an emergency meeting tonight at 10pm with everyone from the Governor down hoping to come up with a solution. The problem is the crews don't want to get vaccinated and are fighting the state mandate. There's no longer an extra crewmember on board and when one person calls in sick the boat can't sail until there's a full crew, This has been going on all summer with over 50 sailings canceled in July and August alone.

    From WSDOT

Because of continued crewing challenges, customers are highly encouraged to postpone all discretionary travel today and tomorrow, if possible. New reservations on the route have been closed to try to keep enough space open to accommodate existing reservation holders. Please note that standby space will be extremely limited. Existing reservation holders are highly encouraged to monitor rider alerts today to stay up to date on the latest service information.

Any mags got recommendations for activities, must eat/drink places on orcas island and Friday harbor? Kicking off the honeymoon on Decatur island then hoping between islands for the next week or so. Leaving the car behind and using a combination of water taxis, and airplanes to get around. We’ll have rental e-bikes to get around orcas island

Definitely hit Mt Constitution. Not sure if you can bike up unless you’re in Ironman shape but the ride down looks fun. Views are amazing up there (weather dependent)
