As if a 'gravel' bike with like 10mm of rear suspension looks any better. Dentist paris-roubaix poser mobile?

Some Scottish gravel - we took the train from Glasgow to Corrour, the most remote train station in the UK and where the train station scene from Trainspotting was filmed. We did a 55 mile ride to another station and caught the train home. Probably 90% off-road with about 2 miles of hike-a-bike through a very wet bog. My buddy is on a sick Genesis Fugio with 2.2's that he just built up. I was on the other end of the spectrum; steel single speed commuter bike with v brakes, 35c Gravel Kings setup tubeless - run what ya brung!

Pull the Tour Divide trackleaders.com this morning. Last night the leaders left Brush Mountain for Steamboat, apparently a difficult pass on a good day.

Sofaine (leader) wandered around for a few hours in what would appear to be looking for the track/road. Finally backtracking off the pass. Kato (2nd place) appears to have bivouaced up high.

Going to be interesting to hear the stories about what happened. Lots of snow falling on steamboat mtn

Um, 19" of snow at Steamboat. Gonna be a fucked up day of riding for the leaders.

Wow yeah those guys are in for a tough day. Hopefully it stays cold long enough for them to get over the top.

Kato spent the winter riding snowy tracks in Mazama so he should be right at home.

From today in the Shire. Dirt roads are prime right now. Everything has been graded and we’ve had some good hard rains. Surface is tight and fast, no dust!

Looks like he is staying there for a while....

Anyone else think Lael Wilcox is going to charge through the second half?? I want to see her win it outright!

She won't get it this year. Top 3 are 100 miles ahead and pulling away. Large group still stuck at Brush Mtn Lodge. She and Josh Ibbett tried yesterday and got stopped by mud. Check out his Instagram post from yesterday and his Insta story today.

Very cool following this race. Josh Kato tried to sleep in a cave and found a lion sleeping in it?!?!

Amazing how this snow/mud totally flipped the race on its head. If Sofiane didn't get lost and was able to push through the storm he would be WAY far in front of everyone else now.

When are you dickweeds gonna tell Lael that she shouldn’t be riding Specialized? Huh?
Go on beaters, take a lap.

Well that storm really fucked up the race. 8+ scratches including Lael. Meanwhile Alexandra is fucking carrying her bike past other racers with her workboots on. Fucking beastmode.

Can't imagine the suffering that is happening out there. This site does a great job of capturing it.

Wow, that sounds like some epic suffering. Can't imagine it either, there's no way I have that capacity.

Understandable, just seems like a slight slap in the face to folks who dream of a trip like this, train/take time off/save money for years to try to complete it.
