Nice shots! I have spent most weekends this winter at Mammoth, but I have had some fun days at Baldy down here. I really wish every winter was like this one.

    URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

.A late season storm will bring periods of snow Sunday into Monday
morning, with accumulations expected above 6000 ft. Including the cities of Big Bear City, Big Bear Lake,
    Running Springs, and Wrightwood

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM SUNDAY TO
5 AM PDT MONDAY ABOVE 6000 FEET...

    * WHAT...Snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total
snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches from 6000 to 7000 ft, 2 to
5 inches above 7000 ft with localized amounts up to 8 inches
    above 8000 ft, are expected.

30-55 mph wind too, should do a nice job filling rockfall potholes and smoothing sun cups, and covering pollen and dirty snow that melts faster.

^ Yeah, except for wind-stripped areas. Always lovely alternating between corn (or ice) and mank every ten feet... The sun will cook the new stuff quickly though.

My last turns on Throop this season. Fair amount of bush whacking to reach snow. Don't bother attempting it from Dawson Saddle Trail due to thin cover and steep dry headwalls (I hiked to peak first to check it out). Boot straight from bottom so you know what you're dealing with. Downclimbing dry looker's right chute (#3 from bottom) sucks, won't ever do that again.

Snow stability is bomber in middle chute (it's super dense), only 1" boot and axe shaft penetration. Crampons would be the ticket but I was running out of daylight and didn't take the time to mess with 'em. Not as much rockfall on snow surface as you'd expect, and you can easily clear it as you climb. Mostly pine needles making it look dirty.

BP still has some goods, no idea if it cliffs out at bottom but assume the downclimb is heinous.
