Notre Dame Cathedral burning...
Got a news text that there was a fire. Figured it was small and contained....wow. When I turned on the TV.

Notre Dame Cathedral burning...
Doubt that...but who knows.
Main spire collapsed.
My first time to Paris, was staying in the burbs. Took the metro to the Notre Dame stop. So it was literally the first sight I saw of Paris. Was much more impressive than I had imagined.

Horrifying. So much history going up in smoke. Looks like only the stone will be left.

i went to go look at how many times it's been rebuilt and someone already updated the wiki
awful loss, huge cultural, historical icon
but i expect it will get rebuilt faithfully to the design

Well, 700 years is a pretty good run...
I recommend they just raze whatever is left and put in short term rentals on the site
