Dr Strangelove or Paths of Glory

Clockwork Orange is grossly overrated and has dated very badly.

Even the allure of Clockwork Orange being banned and very difficult to see in the UK until 1999 couldn't prevent it being an anticlimax.

Anthony Burgess said that he wished he hadn't ever written the book.. for many reasons. Including that the film of it was so badly done.

Still my favorite.. And I've seen them all... except the last half of Eyes Wide Shut. Agree that was terrible, walked out of the theater laughing. Although Holmes and Watson is pretty close to as terrible.

No, but it's the new bar for "terrible" movie.

A clockwork orange is far from kubrick's best work, but it's still a great movie. Actually watched it last night (it's streaming on netflix right now). Hadn't seen it in a decade or so, but still enjoyed it. Sure, some of it feels quite dated, but the general premise remains sound.

Eyes Wide Shut was such a letdown. Kubrick had seious sexual issues, I'm sure.

But, the beginning of that movie with Kidman posing almost naked was worth the ticket price.

Come on Benny- you aren’t driving around the upscale CT burbs whispering “fidelio” trying to get in on the weird but cool sexual games the upper upper class are digging on? Just the loafers alone...

Hey, I'm not saying that shit doesn't happen. I've seen enough free porn to know that there's a lot of freaks out there. I just thought it was an awful subject to film, based on a fucked up fifties novel. And, god, did Tom Cruise suck.

Tom cruise is a gaylien. How else could every sexual encounter with Nicole Kidman be that awkward? I def. think Kubrick thought he had hit the jackpot casting those two only to find out cruise was not only gay but a gay thetan.
