Is it worth storing for the occasional liner heat mold?

I would bypass the heat and set a timer for just fan to make an everyday boot dryer.

Maybe a timer, to go on 30 minutes before you put them on.

Once you go with a boot warmer, you’ll never go back.

I’ve converted most of my buddies and my kids to intuition liners. I did a test run last night & molded a pair while I tuned skis, it was the easiest route ever.

Pretty straightforward. It's a great tool for heating most liners as long as you don't need to contour the cuff area, like to accommodate a large calf with a Power Wrap (then you'll need an oven). Default time is 8 minutes, you can add time if you like (we usually go 10 minutes). You will normally always use the "hot" temp (the Garmont icon). Turn it on with the "Start Heat" button once you have your time and temp set. There are different "stacks" available for the same machine, some use a curved pipe with holes to send more heat to the toebox.

that sticker sez Garmont so wouldn't it have have been for those ( not as good as an Intuition but way > than anything dynafit ) Palau liner that Garmont put in their boots 10 yrs ago ?

The fitting process as I remember was first to shell fit then try the boot which was so fucking tight I couldn't wear it for more than 5 min, the fitter sez " trust me " we cook the liner, the fit was actualy pretty good but G-fit liners didn't hold up like an intuition

you always see these things or some variant or sitting in a shop SO is a stack heater just a stack heater ??

They still sell the same unit under a variety of names, the controls may vary slightly but they are basically all the same. Ditto for the K-Tech convection ovens you see with Salomon, Atomic, K2, Head etc. on them, all the same oven.

There are other, slightly less effective units meant to be hung on the wall, usually with a snowboard brand on them.

Used one a lot at a shop I worked at and always had great results. We would place a cardboard box over the boots to create an oven effect, trapping in the heat a little more.
