Poll: do you use aftermarket or custom footbeds?
The euro footbed thread has me curious who here is using custom foodbeds, stock aftermarket footbeds, whatever came with your boot, or some other janky thing (looking at you, swissiphic)
So what are you using?
I'm just using whatever was in my touring boots when I got them. 160ish days in and no complaints... I have been super fortunate though and have "normal" shaped feet and never had any foot injuries etc.

Superfeet 4eva (pure habit at this point). Haven’t used a stock footbed in a ski boot in prolly 20 years

custom molded by a real podiatrsist paid for by extended HC which would be true custom
or yoursole.com about 40-50 can$ modifyed by me so I guess they are custom, ish.
superfeet are not the best for my feet ... not enough arch support
So I voted something else
After becoming a yoursole fanboy, I found some sole's in a surplus store for <10 so I bought all of them, I have used a sole in one boot and a custom medical orthotic in the other boot, at the end of the day i could not remember which boot had which had which orthotic
SO IMO you don't need customs if you can find your off the shelf orthotic or even if you don't need one thats great cuz the point is ... every foot is different eh

I guess I should have been more verbose. Custom. The kind you step on.
Had cork ones where you sit in the high chair like a baby and they suck up into your foot. Those did not work for me. They didn't keep their shape and just became an uncomfortable lump under my arch. Also, having the imprint of the ball of my foot and toes is not comfortable to me. It's never in the right spot.

I got surefeet done years ago and they've held up pretty well. I also have custom orthotics I use for other stuff made out of some space age polymer. Those are only 3qtr sole. The surefeet have ridges for toes but i don't notice them. The 3/4 ortho can be annoying depending on usage

Always use aftermarket footbeds. Superfeet for years, I prefer moldable these days and am liking Sole.

Had always used stock. Got new boots 2 weeks ago, couldn't get them dialed in. Went and had custom footbeds made. Feels awesome.

Poll won't work on my phone but custom insoles made locally. Changed my skiing in a huge way. According to my bootfitter, some foot shapes need custom soles more than others and they help me a lot. Maybe your feet are normal enough that they are ok without? Or maybe you don't know what you are missing, hard to say...

I can't vote for multiple options.
In my alpine boots I use a custom molded footbed.
In my touring boots I use an off-the-shelf Superfeet insole.
Why the difference? Well, a Superfeet green is pretty damn close to the shape of my arch. Not perfect, but close. In a touring boot having your foot move and flex a little is not a bad thing. You trade a tiny bit of absolute performance for a bit more comfort, and usually you have a little extra space in the boot anyway. However my alpine boots are extremely tight and in those a custom insole to precisely position my foot is essential.

Superfeet custom cork. Super bummed they stopped making these; been skiing them for 20 years.

I’m running the standard surefoot footbed in my foamed alpine liners. Superfeet green in my touring boots.
