This area usually just has tomatoes and peppers. I've removed them now that we're getting frost, and tried pulling up the random unwanted stuff but I know I'm not getting all the roots. Was planning on adding compost and turning but I'm afraid to spread this stuff around.

Is there anything I can do or just ignore it and live with it. It's not a big deal, just looks shitty by late summer and I suppose is stealing nutrients that could be used for making vegetables.
A layer of newspaper covered by a couple of inches of mulch does a great job of keeping the weeds down if your area is small enough to make the expense of the mulch and the labor a reasonable tradeoff.

It’s officially over for the Peruvian farm. The tractor is finding a new home in the western VT banana belt.

    RE: renegade tomatoes..
so far so good. one plant is about 5'5" .. both throwing 6-ish fruits .. seem happy with their journey through the compost to renegade growing, and their move inside (maybe mutts with German Pink and Solar Flare? Green zebra? no idea). But they're delicious and still really growing.

I guess this marks the end of the '19 season for me: Ran the manure loads and put everything to bed for the year:

    Jeez!
    I can’t start back up til may/june.

Not sure if it’s ‘garden’ but maybe moving/expanding the apiary if the weather cooperates.

Last day of the season to do work in the garden for the SLC area. Tilled and composted the shadier area of the yard so Ms Boissal could get the garlic and onions in the ground. Dog was being very helpful as usual. Also harvested a bunch of arugula which was coming back with a vengeance after burning up in August. I'm not going to lie, I'm looking forward to not having anything to do in the yard until next April!
