How can I add a ratchet buckle to the forefoot of my boot?

Is there a company that sells this? Sorry I don't know the exact names

I have sportiva Racetrons. Hate the lower foot buckle. I had sportiva syborgs, I like that ratchet thing. I want to chop off this monstrosity and add a simple plastic ratchet strap.

    Has anyone here made frankenboots?

I can't comment on the wisdom of adding a buckle but any good boot shop will have a collection of old buckles you can probably get cheap, if you don't mind a buckle that doesn't match the others.

    Holy frankenboot

So the walk lever and the top buckle are cabled together for one quick flip of the switch? Weirdly emo.

Assuming op is serious, it’s too many grams of weight at the toe that will kill your emo uphill climbs.

Try one or two bontex shims to take up the room.

Shades of the 6 buckle Nordica that Fernandez Ochoa won the Olympic slalom with in Sapporo, 1972.

    For you historians:

[Edit] It was a boot designed by Sven after the Sapporo. I couldnt find the reference. As a kid, I lusted after those boots. You remember this stuff - with 6 buckles, they go to "11" ;-) [/edit]

Couldn't find the referenced Nordica, but here's a 6-buckle boot:

    Hah, that's my picture!
Funny seeing those old skis in the background. One pair is still in use, although only for course marking.
