    lift ops and maint

Looked for a thread and no findy. Anywho, I have a friend or two that do lift maintenance. They are hard working folks who are the heavy hitters of mtn operations and much of what they do happens off season. Wanted to put a few videos here and maybe some others will chime in.

    Cheers

I was briefly a liftie back in my youth (second favorite job I ever had) and then a snowmaking/mountain ops kind of guy a while later so I like this thread. Keep em coming.

    Sweet thread
I bumped chairs and picked up tourists for 5 years during the end of my college career in the four corners. Good times that I miss for sure!

Bumped chairs for 1 season, was going to do a 2nd year but I was asked to join the Patrol.

Worked a lot with Lift Maint. crews during summers. All of them I have met/worked with/car pooled with are quality people with very few exceptions.

The grease that keep the wheels spinning. Our maintenance crew at Powder Mountain won the 'Best Department' award at the end of season party. Well deserved.

I did an avalanche talk at the RMLA (Rocky Mountain Lift Association) meeting last May in Grand Junction. It was a 3 day conference with all sort of lift/ski area related talks and classes. Lot of great folks attended.

not every day is good day when you’re a liftie… some days suck hard.

Great thread, I’d say grooming and snow makers are welcome as well. All these teams are the stick that stirs the drink

HOW DID YOU GO FROM LIFTIE/PATROL TO GLORYHOLE ATTENDANT SO QUICKLY?
Hey d-bag - here's something for you to think about: maybe (just maybe) not everybody here has their little panties in a wad 24/7 and flies into a rage whenever somebody disagrees with them. Maybe these same mags don't take this place uber-seriously. Maybe this even includes the vast majority of the people who post here as opposed to you and like 20 other thin-skinned douchebags. Just something to think about. -JER

Which one of you is to blame for the grease spots that dripped on my white Spyder jacket????

No, I don't really ski in white jackets or white pants.. but I've heard people screaming mad about that hahahahaha!

    COOL STORY BRO.

ONLY GREASE YOU GOT ON YOUR COAT WAS FROM THE LONG LINE OF DUDES YOU'VE BEEN SERVING.

A guide in Wengen told the story of the woman in a new white ski suit who tripped when crossing the rack railway track which left a very noticeable pattern diagonally across it.
