    Gordycamps

It seems like these are gone. Is there anything else like it happening anymore?

I think the last year Gordy did the Straightline camps was 2016. Would love to see them resurrected.

I can still hear Brant Moles voice in my head critiquing my pole plant.

I always wanted to attend but didn’t have the money or time. Now I’ve got the time and money (barely) they’re no more.

Same here. Was always to busy to attend and now I have both and regret not making time.

HA! I was gonna nominate SFB for this. No idea about "best skier," but sure has great pictures and tours. And he seems to have a solid handle on safety...the meetings part anyways!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

It was my third run through that spot that I blew up and beatered off the cliff. IIRC

I did have the money and not the time. Then I had the time and not the money. Now I have neither, but would work really hard to find both is straight line started up again.

They did a lot more than have you follow a great skier. Coaching is a skill. And good coaching almost always help you improve.

Reminds me. Got to schedule a ski school day for my kid. He has only skied with me this winter and needs a real coach for at least a day.

Their website seems to be down. The last time I looked at it I think at the beginning of the winter it hadn’t been updated for a few years.

baron, I hope you are right as I did his camp in the past and want to do another one BIG time...! In the attached thread he alluded to the fact that 2015 would be his last year and I hope he is missing it to much that he is bring it back...

Not only did I learn a lot, had a blast and had the shit scared out of me at times the price alone is worth it as you have big time big mountain ski names showing you the local goods...!

I'm definitely in the "no skillz, but finally enough $$$" camp. I'd be down for the Alta/Bird edition!

Just missed the last couple, achillies injury had me bail on one, and then the next year we did the cancelled camp where not enough signed up initially but Gordy skiied w us for a day anyway. Then that was the last year. Sucks bc I was really looking forward to these and desperately need someone to berate me about my terrible pole usage.

That conversation may or may not all have occurred within his own mind.
