    I don't shovel the roof but we had wet snow and rain event in october last year to the point of total saturation of the ground which caused many flooded basements mine included and some collapsed roofs, so if your house was built before certain upgrades to the code it was recommended you shovel the roof and I did

    Nieghbors in my hood spent thousands of dollars getting their roofs shoveled this season. Since I'm a cheap bastard, I prefer OGs answer
