My ex father in law, may he rest in peace, taught me something. In retirement, adhere to a cocktail hour time, and stick to it. Mine's 5.

Counterpoint: you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

When you stay drunk 24/7, time is irrelevant.
Unless you are waiting for the liquor store to open.

If you don’t get drunk 1 hour early you’ll be 1 hour older when you do.

Glad to see someone mounting a DST defense- it's always just the haters who seem to bring it up.

I accidentally changed my clock to 24 hour time and set it an hour ahead. Now instead of 600 it's 1800 and that looks 3 times later.

I always thought WC Fields said that, although one site says this so who knows:

People who have been given credit for this one: Dean Martin, Sinatra, W.C. Fields, and Sammy Davis, Jr. Any of those men might have said it and lived by it, but none of them should get the attribution. Dean Martin did say the line in the 1963 movie “Under the Yum Yum Tree”.

i'm getting drunk an hour later as I like to start when it's at least sunset, drinking more than one when the sun is out seems too much like a daytime drinker for me

The worst thing about DST Spring is that when the bars close at 2am, and 2am instantly becomes 3am, your hangover has an hour head start.

But I've always wondered about DST Fall: when 2am instantly becomes 1am, do the bars stay open until the "new" 2am (the "old" 3am); giving you an extra hour of drinking time?

I never know because that's always prime deer season. And when that Saturday night comes I'm usually laying in a sleeping bag and counting on my fingers trying to figure out what the fuck to do regarding setting the alarm.
