Alaska stoke and observations
So the last couple threads for specific seasons didn’t get much traction. Just not enough mags up here I guess. But I know there’s some.
I got laid off at the end of January and I’ve been skiing pretty much 5-6 days a week and alas mostly solo. Let’s get some AK stoke going!!!But Ellen kicks ass - if she had a beard it would be much more haggard. -Jer

Persistent high pressure and low danger right now mean big steep lines are on the menu.

Greetings from the North. Conditions are stellar, more or less.

I heard fairbanks conditions were good last saturday? That rock skiing is gnar!
The kat to koot race this last weekend was fun, southeast may be in a drought, but sunshine and shin/knee deep works for me.

Use to shred the shit out of moose mountain in squarebanks. I actually kinda missed it. Some of the most pure, idgaf skiing I've ever seen.

That’s where I learned to ski back in the 80s.

Where are you guys?
better earlier in the week imo. did dawn/dusk laps at skiland on 4 days (I think? hard to keep track) last week. was up on sat too "coaching for the ski club", aka half assedly trying to make 7 y/olds do turns and praying no one was gonna fall off the chair and the chair wouldn't shut down.
there is some sort of ongoing conflict at moose between the resort and people who skin/try to do car shuttles in the evenings so no weekday skinning at moose except the occasional stealth mission in the dark. ester dome is okay-ish, still pretty brushy. "pure idgaf skiing" is a good way to describe fbx skiing.

The deltas are awesome. It’s so hard for me to get up there, if I was single or didn’t have kids I’d head up more often.

Headed up to Girdwood on Saturday from Jackson. Planning on skiing a bit at Turnagain if the avy conditions improve. Definitely planning on Alyeska a couple of days as well. Would be stoked to have some locals show us around at either. Beers on me if your my huckleberry.
