    FS: 2018 Spot Mayhem 29'er, Upgraded 5-star X01 Build

I'm selling an excellent condition 2018 Spot Mayhem 29'er, size large. This is an upgraded 5-star XO1 build, where I've added the Fox 36 140mm front fork and a brand new set of Industry Nine Enduro 305 wheels. The bike is in awesome shape, as it only has a couple of small scratches on the non-drive side chainstay. Otherwise, the wheels are mint, the fork is perfect, and everything functions as it should.

As-is, the bike weighs about 29 lbs. See below for the full spec list.

Asking $4200 (plus shipping if needed), PM if interested.

    Frame: 2018 Spot Mayhem 509, size L
    Fork: Fox 36 Factor 140mm
    Shock: Fox Factory DPS Evol
Wheels: Industry Nine Enduro 305 (with new Hydra hubs)
    Dropper: BikeYoke Revive 160mm
    Drivetrain: SRAM X01
Brakes: SRAM Level T (brand new)
Wheels: Maxxis DHF 2.5" Front, Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.35" Rear
    Stem: Race Face Turbine 50mm
Handlebar: Race Face Next Carbon 760mm
    Saddle: WTB Silverado (brand new)

If only an XL....Lucky (or is it: unlucky) me.

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I don't see too many of these where I live in CA...seems like a solid deal. How does this bike compare to some of your other FS 29'ers?

In all honesty, it's my favorite bike to date. The only reason I'm selling it is because this year we're using all Ibis bikes... otherwise there's no way I'd sell it.

Here's a review I wrote last year, comparing it to a few other similar bikes.

When I was demoing bikes I was focused on long travel 27.5s, but did ride a couple 29ers including the Mayhem. If I were buying a 29er the Mayhem would be really high on my list.
The one I rode was built kinda like this one - ie Fox 36 140mm, Minions, burlier wheels. IMO this is how the bike deserves to be built, smmokan did it right.
The defining trait of the bike going uphill was it is extremely efficient pedaling and the defining trait going downhill was that it was very playful. I didn't ride it enough to say much beyond that, but I thought it was a very good bike and the guys at Spot seem like great dudes.

I have one built similarly. Super fun bike. Great climber, playful and poppy on the descents.
