Cool sound. Like the clean strat sound. Lefty at that. Saved it. Still not sure on that tempo speed up though. Have to give it another listen or 5

An interview with Stewart Copeland led me to his 'band' Klark Kent. Utoob has some live stuff and this Kollection. I wish I could locate it on Spotify.

So the other night I went and saw Tab Benoit (go see him if you can) and he played "I Got Loaded" which I'd always known as a Los Lobos tune. But today I started wondering about it and it's quite a bit older, Here's the original, which I first heard about an hour ago:

I guess re-found. I hadn't heard this in at least 30 years and had completely forgotten about it. But it's still good.

Don't know how I missed this one, but been digging on the Legend Of The Seagullmen. Danny Carey (Tool) and Brent Hinds (Mastodon) join "forces to make cinematic psychedelic rock, the SEAGULLMEN sing of ship wrecks and giant mutant squid, crafting conceptual rock 'n' roll hymns of epic proportions."
"The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size."

RIP Tony Allen. Honestly I never heard of him until I saw his obit today. I'm digging this tune though. Nigerian drummer, did a lot with Fela Kuti and Hugh Masakela, among others.

Found this; they seem like they're having a good time. I like ska.

XTC is obviously one of the most musically talented bands ever but for whatever reason they leave me cold. I've heard them a lot, I know they're good. I just don't dig them much. fwiw.

Oh well, early 80s, they were a standard on our turntable and struck chords for me.

Yeah I had a housemate who was a drummer and loved their drummer Terry Chambers so I heard it all the time. Maybe I just burned out on it. But I tend to prefer rootsier more emotional music in general too.

That was a music rich time, between XTC, Funkadelic/Parliament, Prince, New Order, the Pretenders, FZ, The Cure, The Specials, The English Beat, The Clash, Beefheart, Tom Waits, Wire, so much good stuff.

So I found this a couple days ago by accident. Andrew Bird and Jonathan. Andrew has a whole series of these "Great Room" videos. This video is kinda weird but Andrew's a little weird and Jonathan...well he's Jonathan.

You know you have a groovy bass line when the audience sings along with it. Sounds best with headphones or real speakers rather than the phone.
