Tickets are going to First Tee Charity in Monterey, so at least something good is coming out of this shitty situation.

Unless you are staying in Carmel or Pebble getting in and out of that event is a chore. Free shuttle is in Marina. 30 minutes transfer minimum. The premium shuttle in Monterey might save you 10 minutes. Carmel should be enjoyed as a quiet village for best aesthetic.

We are going to the car auctions this year and will commute from Oakland.

Which of the 8 teams would you be happy with?

I'm not one of those teams.

BTW - Tiger was not a top-8 golfer at The Masters.

i'm down for rory or DJ, whichever one has a hot putter, brooks probably falls off; even the best golfers have off weeks.

Two nice putts for Tigers start. This is easily the best venue for an Open.

Short of USGA ruining the event again it will be -10 or better to win, probably more. No way to defend this course and have fair scoring against modern game.

What does one have to do with the other? I don’t need the USGA to play golf. It’s not a secret the USGA has made questionable decisions with men’s open. I suspect they cost Chambers Bay millions of dollars in revenue after turning that into an abomination Who would want to play there after watching that mess?

Also. If course setup had not been a problem why hire a tour consultant and change setup leadership?

My prediction would be DJ or Spieth.
Tiger's putting was on fire today.

PEBBLE BEACH — Jordan Spieth made two full swings on Pebble Beach’s eighth hole, the first barreling over a cliff into a hazard, the second sailing over the green and into the rough. The fact that he escaped with a bogey 5 could be considered a small victory.

What Spieth couldn’t escape during Thursday’s first round, however, was criticism for how he reacted to the hole, with Fox cameras capturing the three-time major champion venting to caddie Michael Greller walking off the green.

“Two perfect shots, Michael,” Spieth said. “You got me in the water on one and over the green on the other.”

Yeah, blame the caddie. He seems a little nuts lately to me.

Watching group coverage of Rose yesterday was good TV. 14 one putts, 22 putts total, lowest first round ever 65.

Fun course to watch. So many chances to make shots around the greens.

CB had a reputation for shitty greens before the Open. I believe they came to their senses and installed a modern grass strain. I like that they push the course to the limit, sometimes life's not fair, and golf should be that way occasionally.
