Skis you HATED.. Recent edition, 2010 or newer.

Plenty of discussions about what's good for this or good for that. I LOVE my new... OK what recent purchase or demo really disappointed you? What skis did you find to be just horrible?

Personally, everything I've tried was pretty good at one thing or many. Does any major company or larger boutique vendor make anything that bad these days??

Hate's a strong word but I disliked the Fischer Ranger at a recent industry demo. Weird tail feedback, weird ski in general.

Did anyone ever ski the original Bluehouse Shoots? Hands down the worst ski I’ve ever been on in my life.

Oh wait those were pre 2010. Sorry - reading comprehension fail

I did ski them. Picked up a pair at the BD parking lot swap, new first editions. $50. Hated them.

I demoed a pair of DPS skis once, couldn't wait to get them off my feet. I think they might have been horribly tuned, they were the hookiest, grabbiest ski I'd ever been on.

Faction 10-5. Had them base getting twice as they still felt edge high even though they weren't. Ski was chattery and nervous. Shape looked good but result was horrible. Only ski I ever been on that had zero redeeming qualities.

The airline lost my luggage, so I rented some Dynastar Chan’s for the day. I don’t recall if they were 97 or 107....but I hated them. They felt turny and squirrelly....I hadZERO confidence in them. I know people like them, but not me.

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Dps wailer 105. Harshest ski I've ever been on.

On3p kartel 108. Tails had a mind of their own.

Dynastar cham 107. Xxl's are top 5 favorites of all time. The apple fell pretty far from the tree.

To me that ski is in desperate need of positive camber

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Also pre-2010, 2009, maybe? Anyway, I had the Bluehouse Mavens. I would joke how I hated every aspect of that ski.

Could start a turn, but not finish it. Too soft. Too fat. Too short of a running length. Too short of a turning radius. Too fucking everything.

Blister had a review about them, and I bought a used pair and mounted on the rec. line.

Worst ski I've ever been on. Couldn't predict the turn shape whatsoever.

Dynastar Legend X106. Way too stiff, especially the tail, and way too light for a ski that stiff.

If you always get nice soft conditions and/or never have to navigate any nasty bumps or you just take it easy, then it should be fine.

Salomon BBR. They were pretty popular around 2012, and the shape was certainly not like anything else. They had a free demo one day, so what the heck? About 10 turns down the hill I realised they sucked real bad. I stopped and weighed up whether I should ride them down 600m to the bottom of the lift, or hike the 10 turns back up to the demo tent to hand them back in. Skiied down, should've hiked it back up. Longest 600m groomer of my life!

Same. I got on a pair and promptly ate shit. It was like the skis did whatever they wanted. Buddy loves them.

As for the thread question, I'll mention a ski that I hated for the first three minutes (on a cat track to the lift) then I had a full 180 degree change of opinion.... praxis powder board. Go ahead and hate it...until you hit freshies in the trees.

I've actually warmed up nicely to center mounted twins. I skied mostly race skis for the past 30 years, then spend half my time on all mountain twins. Past two seasons I've skied exclusively center mounted twins. Was the only dude in our posse skiing an 85 waist center mounted twin down the notably hard and icy steep double black at Laurel a couple weeks ago. Heck our gathermeister ran back to his car to get skinnier, carving skis when we opted to go ski that a couple times. Now, the park skis I'm currently using as daily drivers are FULL cambered. It's rockers that I avoid like the plague.

Demoed a pair of Fatypus M5s and liked them enough to order a pair.

Maybe it was the mount, maybe it was the ski. Never felt like I could find the sweet spot, I was either over the tips or off the tails.

Sold them for a 150 dollar loss and felt lucky to be rid of them.
