The Mission Convergence - East meets West. (Mini Summit Feb 9-10 at Mission Ridge)

To not further ruffle Z-Bo’s feathers, I’m starting this as a new thread.

we’re going to have a little mini-summit this weekend at mission ridge.

A unique weather pattern is setting up where the driest ski area in the Cascades is going to get more snow that the west slope for once.

Upslope winds up the Columbia river are going to transfer snow around the back of the Cascades to our little island in the desert.

Historically this pattern can make some Utah style blower conditions.

Here’s what happened in a similar pattern: https://www.instagram.com/p/BOxlToeDGyB/

No promises but even a foot of blower at mission will ski deep.

    Plan is:

Meet in front of the patrol building at 8:15am each morning.

    Try not to get frostbite.

It’s going to be really cold both days, boot gloves and face masks highly advised. Think Northern Rockies cold not Cascades cold.

Those of us who ski the hill a lot will be happy to guide. It’s a tough hill to figure out if you don’t know the spots.

    Confirmed attendees:
    jackattack
    SteveSki
    Lvs
    Neil
    2funky
    Mooseknuckles
    CascadeLuke
    Oftpiste

    Who else?

Conditions are prime for a unicorn sighting of the magnificent variety.
Common sense. So rare today in America it's almost like having a superpower.

    Thanks for being point man.

Pretty sure there are some more heading that way who may or may not be aware of the summit.

Hmmmm... never been to Mission. I’ll get on the road ass crack early tomorrow and make a game time decision whether I get off at exit 52 or keep driving.

Still on the fence about which day. How much warmer is ten degrees compared to two. (Fahrenheit).

This isn’t really an either/or scenario if you ask me.

I hear ya. But if you had to pick?...I’m still leaning for tomorrow, and if I don’t go tomorrow there is zero chance that I can go both days right. Just too cold for Todd.

Doing my best to make an appearance on Sunday with a handful of hi 2 patrol. As always, don't count on patrollers to be able to put together enough change for a nickel, so no guarantees.

Really hard to say given the forecast. North wind shouldn’t shut it down but will be painful skiing anywhere from it. And when does the wind arrive and from where?
