Who has the best chance to derail the Yanks? I'm thinking Houston, so I'm all in on them but say Houston doesn't get there. Tampa? arrgh. Maybe unpossible.

Let's get shit sorted and knock these fucks out now before we have to count on the lame-ass NL to do it.

Which reminds me, during last year's Red Sox championship run, Yankees fans were remarkably contained and demure. Thanks for that.

    But I'm not like that.

So the 6th best pitcher in all of baseball is gonna pitch...Game 3 of the NLCS.

If the manager asks the pitcher after Top of 1, "We'd like you to pitch Game 1, whadaya say?"...he's gonna answer no???!!!

Or to put it in simpler terms, what would the STL manager do if the starting pitcher HAD to be removed (my favorite whimsical scenario is, he has Tourette's and gets tossed for accidentally cussing out the 3rd Base Umpire as he walks to the mound before having thrown any pitches at all). Obviously he wouldn't bring in his best reliever. It would be whoever's #25 on the depth chart.

tl/dr the stupid STL manager shoulda instructed his ace to intentionally walk the leadoff hitter, whereupon he'd be removed from the game

The Braves were flat when they still had 3 games to go to clinch. Maybe they peaked too soon or just wore out.

Either way it was a fun season and they did better than expected.

No it didn't. Roberts has no faith in Kelly and not much more in Jansen. Regrettably,, he's stupidly loyal to his favorite players. Kershaw should have been limited to that single punch out in the seventh, with Kenta pitching the eight, and maybe finishing.

No, that was not what I meant. I saw it coming. I think that a lot of Doyers's fans did.

Of course I'm posting this following yet another Joe Kelly meltdown.

Roberts is a Tier II manager and the front office shit the bed in their off-season, and mid-season, signings.

The bullpen was managed so poorly tonight, but at the end of the day the players choked, not Roberts. Their hitting totally shit the bed with risp all series. I’m too lazy to look up the stats but they had to hit around .100 with runners on.

And the coaching staff has no responsibility for this?

And, really, it was never much of a bullpen, was it?
