Pretty sure he's a Miami lawyer, there was an article about him a year or two ago.
DC last night, Oakland tonight. That's dedication.

I have no more rooting interest left this year, I think I am pulling for a Twins-Braves WS for some fresh blood, with Bravos winning it.
So those two teams are pretty much screwed.
Pretty much any team but the Yanks and I can be happily indifferent.

Playoff baseball
stoked to get this started.
gunshy too after the last few years
its like a tech run you greased a few years ago, but last few times you tried it you beatered, right at the end.
at the top again, knowing you can, but that last turn is a bear, but if you focus on that you may fuck up the beginning.
ah shit what am I saying, I am just watching, and drinking, and worryin, and
lets go Dodgers.

A's coach was lamenting on a one game playoff, he coach; you just played 162 games. if you wanted to stay out of a one game playoff; you shoulda won your division with those 162 chances you had to do that.

I can only hope that between some smoking plastic-y babes in LA and and the Mrs. Verlander show in Houston (I'll never forget watching her jump up and down in that luxury box last year) things will be ok this postseason.
The babe show in these other places, including NY, is always a huge disappointment."timberridge is terminally vapid" -- a fortune cookie in Yueyang

I'm just here for the usual Dodgers postseason fail. Best case they will be gone by Sunday night. Go Nats. Fuck LA.

I stand corrected and would never intentionally disparage A-Rod. Thanks ML242.

Roberts is a class act.
Was that ceremony at the end of the third inning? Kind looks like a Dodger Stadium 3rd inning crowd.Last edited by GiBo; 10-04-2019 at 09:28 AM.

My daughter dated and married a fellow who was with the Mets. Marriage didn't last but a few months. He held a .305 batting average through High A. He was promoted to St Lucie when Pete Alonso broke his hand. Not a big guy but had a bat. They had him behind the plate, not a good fit, and he could never find a "home" anywhere else. They used him as a utility player. At one point, he played everywhere but center outfielder, even pitched an inning and got a save.
A week before their wedding last year, the Mets cut him. Along with 63 other players, 8 coaches and 20 some people in the front office. He had changed agents and the guy couldn't find him a spot with anyone else. He didn't want to play indy ball. He couldn't handle it and the marriage ended up shitting the bed after about 3 months.
Mets are a shitty organization. Poorly run. Even in the minors, the coaches have no control over players or playing time. All comes from the front office. In order to properly convert this thread to a polyasshat thread to more fully enrage the liberal left frequenting here...... That's too bad but not uncommon in most organizations, Mets nonwithstanding. There's an old saying in MiLB that on every team there are 5 prospects and then 20 other guys for them to throw the ball to. He was probably a really good ballplayer but if you're one of the 20, its not much fun.

it's common in US pro-sports because there's no relegation. Fuck up continuously for decades a la Mets or Redskins and nothing happens. Introduce relegation, something that can crush the finances of a team and eventually drive it out of business, and management/ownership sometimes wakes the fuck up.
