What torrent for MP3s?
Haven't downloaded muzac in over a decade....what spots the best/safest PVP/Torrent/NapsterEsqe/PirateBooty thingy? Yah I know google has lots - but asking real life experiences.
Want to load up an old player for offline consumption (e.g lawn mowing etc).
My catalog got lost along the way.....
Thanks in advance - Signed the Stupid Old Man.

No places like the old days that I have seen. I still have most of my old music, but for newer stuff, I use YouTube downloading websites. They seem to rotate as they get shut down. Almost every song is out on YouTube, even the rare and B side songs. One I'm using now is https://ytmp3.cc
These also keep you off your internet providers radar.

The Youtube converters work, but rather than trying to find a new one every few months, just play the video (or Bandcamp stream, or whatever) and record it to your desktop using Audacity. Save as an MP3 when done. It records in real-time off your sound card, so make sure you're not watching porn at the same time...

Do you have a smartphone? If you subscribe to Spotify, you can download all the playlists you want for offline consumption.
If you have Amazon Prime, you can do the same thing with Amazon Music without paying anything extra, but I haven't used it, so I can't say how it works.

I still use mp3s for when I run. I don't want to have a phone strapped to my arm, so I use a lightweight mp3 player. Also, I'll use mp3s with the player camping/hiking to preserve phone battery.
I use Amazon music on my phone for everything else. Sometimes they do not have a band or album I'm looking for, so I go the mp3 route for those as well.

Thepiratebay..... still works for me. BitTorrent grabs the torrents. I run virus scan and download with reckless abandon. I’m sure there are many things wrong with my technique, but I’ve been using torrent based sites for 20 years. If it ain’t broke....

But there's sooo much music not on spotify. Spotify is like the fm radio of the internet. You'll never find new bands or sub genre type bands there.
I used to be a big mp3er but i got unlimited phone plan so just use youtube mostly. I got a bunch of old favorites loaded as mp3.

Just did a quick search. This looks like a paid software, but I am sure with a bit more digging there is an open source alternative.

Audacity, the one I mentioned earlier, is free.
It does a lot more than just straight recording. Recommended.

I’ve spent my whole life using torrent, and I’ve never had a problem with it. I downloaded songs from their movies and games, so for me, it is the torrent is the best and safest option to download. Always went only through the mirror thepirateproxybay, as in my region they have blocked torrents. I’ve been downloading from torrents since 2007, so I can call my opinion an expert.

I always use http://www.unlockedpiratebay.com I can download anything from there. Music is also available on torrent sites, but many people don't know about it and spend a few dollars on a music subscription every month, while using a music torrent you can enjoy an unlimited amount of music for free.
