    Have you skied it?

Might have to wait till the end of the season for that price.

No, I haven't. For the past six, or seven years, I have skied the MX 98 in bounds. I put about 125-150 on my 1st pair, and am approaching that on my second pair. I have fondled the MX99. It seems a bit softer than the MX98, and there is a bit of tip rise. I can demo a pair (maybe), but I am sure that they are fantastic. I own BMX 108 and BMX 128. For me, Kastle has its product dialed.

I have no problem buying a pair from Powder 7 at the end of the year, bt just wanted to get my interest out there.

Please report back with impressions vs the mx98. Best ski out there that no one knows about, well... At least in this super mainstream category.

I’ve avoided even looking at it, because I know I’d buy it.

I’ll keep an eye on the ski walls in town.

I’ve skied it, if your on the Mx 98 you might not like it. It’s soft and doesn’t hook up like the 98, ( because of early rise)

yeah they make them for 95% of the general public. That is also why most manuf are not making skis in a 190 or larger. No one buys them.

That’s a lie, 3 of us in JH have 8 pairs of 194 MX 98s because they are the best ski ever.

If you only have 125-150 days on your 98s, you can probably get another 300-500 out of them. A few guys here firmly believe the 98s don’t even start skiing correctly until you have 100 days on them. My first pair has close to 200 and they are just becoming fun and easy to ski. I’d probably really like one of my new pairs, but until the current pair bites the dust, I not drilling a new pair.

I think he was talking about the mx99?

Mx98 is the best ski ever, and the only thing under 190 that feels like enough ski in this category. Never tried the 194s

i was referring to the mx99. I have had 9 pairs of the mx 98 since they made them. They only did two years of production on them.

They haven't made that ski in 4 or 5 years (which supports my theory on no one making over a 190 anymore, because they do not sell at retail).
I have three pairs in my garage unmounted in the wrapper.
As for getting 300 days out of them, that is not what i have found. After about 90 days, most of mine had de laminated right under the foot, top sheet from sidewall.
I have been told there are 0 pairs left in Austria, i got the last one, a warranty issue replacement.

I have found no other ski that skis like this. It is the best.

Pretty damn sure mx98s were produced up until last year.

nope, i would put a large wager on itthat they were not. They did one run about 5 years ago and were holding the inventory in Europe. Each year they would bring 10-15 over.

And just label them with a new year? I could accept that. Just saying I say saw "2016/17 MX 98s" for sale.

I believe you are correct with the 194 cm MX98. I was under the impression they pressed 174 and 184s, but may be wrong.

I haven’t had that issue you are referring to. A few of us are getting 300+ days out of a pair. Guess it’s maybe a combo of skiing style and mountain? Interesting yours are coming apart.

I had both the 2010–11 version of the MX 98 in the 2015 MX 98. I do think that the skis last forever depending upon the circumstances. Between my two pair I have well over 300 days on them. I have been searching the web and did find a new pair of 2015–16 MX 98 that I may pick up. The price is right
