For what it's worth, I think the Trail Pistola that I posted back in July is the best all-around bike I've ridden this year... if I had a one-bike quiver, that would be at the top of the list. It did everything well, and reminded me a lot of the Spot Mayhem.

I need to make sure my shock isn't cavitating first though.

I'm not buying a 1200 dollar shock when mine is like a 30min fix.

Sounds like dude in Roanoke can maybe probably set me up with a size 2 demo Shred. Seriously considering grabbing it on my way south in a couple weeks. [/excitablog]
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Either one and you’re good... it definitely deserves a 140 fork.

I have not ridden the Fox, but have been very happy over the last month and a half with the MRP Ribbon Air that came on the new-to-me alloy smash.

I've been really impressed with my Ribbon Coil. Had a question and called their GJ office and got to speak directly w/ an engineer, that has never happened for me w/ sram or fox.

Bump... we just announced a formal partnership with GG to provide our demo bikes in 2020. I'm pretty stoked- I really like the Pistola I've been riding, and we're also carrying the Shred Dogg too.

Nice, saw that on your insta the other day. Out of curiosity, how much time do you have to spend setting up suspension for each client? I know that I like mine a specific way and it totally changes the way I feel about any individual bike.

I kinda assumed that was the plan when you first got a Trail Pistol. That seems like a really good fit. Pretty stoked for you, but super stoked for me when you sell them off.

I was wondering if this was in the works judging by your posts on some of the PinkBike review comments sections. What are you offering for your longer travel rigs, still Ripmos? or TBD?

How are you finding the bob while climbing standing up (with lockout open)? I'm really interested in their forthcoming LT29er, which they hinted is coming in a few months, but want something without the need to touch the switch.

I try to get things dialed in before the trip starts, based on their weight/height/riding style. Typically that gets us about 90% of the way there, and then I let the clients fiddle with suspension before the first ride and during the trip.

Andeh, we're only offering one bike for both 29er and 27.5" this year, since they're both "do it all" builds. With a 150mm Lyrik up front on the Pistola, that's more than enough for just about anyone on the rides we do (demos aren't included on the Revelstoke trip). In terms of climbing performance, I find this to be almost on par with my old Ripley V4 on less technical stuff, and just as good when the trail is rocky/techy. The climb switch on the Deluxe definitely helps when I've got a longer fire road-type climb, but I find no need for it on most stuff. I've surprised myself with some of my Strava climbing times on this bike, and I'm definitely not in peak shape given the weather here in CO so far this winter.

I can't say I'm surprised about you partnering with GG. I've been enjoying your old Pistola a lot these past few months.

Fair point, given the amount of vert and mileage you're doing for 3.5 days straight, and since you're not riding massively chunky rock gardens or jump lines, 130/150 bikes make a lot of sense.

Going toe to toe with a Ripley for climbing is a pretty solid accomplishment, especially for a much more aggressive bike descending.

Very cool, I finally got to ride a Shred dogg on the north shore last weekend. Even not set up well for me (borrowed bike w coil susp) it was great.

We'll have the Size 2 Shred Dogg, but they're not making any Size 1's this year unless demand goes up.
