    I’ll second basic courtesy skills, and patience. Would be nice if more people practiced better situational awareness.
    Then add high school literacy, health & nutrition, and STEM. An appreciation of art doesn’t hurt, even if you struggle to paint by numbers or strum a ukulele.
    Oh, and be able, even happy, to be totally cut off from society and its trappings for a day or two.

    In the Middle East and parts of Africa they know how to break down an AK47 by 10.

    Exactly. I lean progressive on gun control, but I still think it's a great idea for a kid to know how to check if one is loaded or not.
