Products and stories to make my life more chill. Huh, why would I want to be more chill?

That is awesome. The algorithms are great now. I was on Lululemon to buy my daughter a requested b-day present, so I was on the site for 5 minutes, and now I'm getting ads for the yoga pants I already bought...for my daughter.

    Where I Put My Peloton

I miss making fun of peloton. Although thinking about it, e-bikes have kind of replaced that for me.

It’s a tough one to figure out. PTON is up almost 50% in the last three days based on what appears to be some promising financial news. Maybe just a blip, maybe due to high short interest, maybe it craters right back down, who knows.

I remember waiting for Carvana implode early last year. It’s up like 400% now. Predicting these stupid tech and disruptor companies seems impossible. Peloton is essentially a tech company.

I highly doubt PTON is done.

Did they over forecast and over produce, sure. Did that put them in a financial pickle, yup.

But the product is still top tier. I have more friends with one in the house than not (myself included) and I don’t know a single one that’s not paying the $44 a month regardless of use.

I had a long argument with my sister that she should buy an actual bike, (or use her almost good one), and get some roller-like device. She absolutely did not get it. She kept saying that I live where it’s nice to ride outside, etc. I kept telling her I ride my rollers all the time when the weather’s shitty, that she’d own a nice bike and be ahead of the game, etc. She never understood. In her mind Peloton is the indoor bike workout thing, period. There’s lots of people like my sister.

…It’s hard for cyclists to understand that a lot of people aren’t cyclists…

My Mrs has been on iFit for several yrs, sort of Peleton knock off that's partnered w/NordicTrack I think. Family subscription for 4 users is <40$/mo. Anyway, I always used rollers etc as well for yrs for indoor training/rehab... but the nice thing about the subscription is I could do treadmill, rower, yoga, pilates, strength, etc. on a tablet in addition to the biking and can get real climbing on the machine to 20% grade in on the bike that I can't really get with rollers/trainers. For someone with a decent home gym/equipment, it's more useful than I would have given credit to.

Yeah, I don’t think they are done, really, That was an incorrect phrase. I meant more that they are desperate, and scraping the bottom of the barrel for revenue.

They wanna spin. They want that experience.
I’ve had people at meetings ask what I was doing, I tell them I went for a ride, they’ll say “where”, I tell them and they’ll stare at me like I’m an alien. It’s not the distance, usually, it’s they’re freaked out and scared.
I just figure maybe, shrug, they could consider a less expensive alternative?
