I am glad to see that they are still running the cat/sled to the top of the hill. THAT was fun!

So I skied there the year after they opened. The runs were very narrow and as a result the bumps were the most consistant moguls I have ever skied. You could actually forget about watching the bumps and just get rhythmic. They all most skied like powder in that the rhythmic patterns were so reliable! I am sure that was a result of the runs being so narrow. Since there was no choice about skiing the fall line, these bumps were symmetrical and they were great fun to ride. Is that still the case at Bluewood today?

I'll be down in W2 visiting family between Christmas and New Years and plan on hitting Bluewood (Ullr willing) for a day or two, free compliments of my Windy Hill pass I went to WWCC in the late 90's and Bluewood is a hidden gem

Hill looking good.
Funny you mention Carhartts, I have been known to ski in my flannel lined carhartt bibs with hooded jacket if conditions permit.watch out for snakes

Not as often as I would like. Even though it's winter I still have animals to care for so I have to time myself for feeding and turnout. Then there can be snow issues like right now plus they aren't open all week. I'm fine with it though as I'm not the hard hitting skier I used to be. Much more casual now enjoying what days I do get and not sweating the ones I miss.
Funny. Just the other day I was thinking the Thinsulate Carhartt bibs I wear for working around the farm on cold days might work for skiing. Not very fashionable but they sure are warm and comfortable.

Grew up skiing bluewood and find myself back in walla for the winter for the first time in a long time. Anyone ever tour up to V ridge using the forest service roads from the sno-park? also KQ i was wondering on who you trust in town here to mount skis? I feel like dustys probably doesn't have a dynafit jig haha, maybe REI in tri cities is the move. Was thinking about going for a little tour this weekend to see how things are shaping up too!
Also does anyone know if spout is going to operate this year?

I haven’t been there for a while, but back in the day the roads were overrun by snowmobiles. The management at Bwood used to panic if they spotted skiers on the backside of the mountain (reported by aforementioned’bilers) and would send patroller clown on alpine gear chasing down the miscreants. After i got busted and hassled, I got on their pro patrol and tried to change things . . . Back then if you didn’t check in with patrol before skiing anywhere nearby they would hunt you down and spit tobacco juice at you.

Sporthaus is a decent shop. I have not had tech fittings mounted there, but my daughter's Praxis were mounted with Squires there, and they did a great job.
