For unguided? Definitely. For guided ($$$$)... to each his own I’d say. They’ve certainly been having one hell of a year.

Guided is same price as Vail and Aspen, slightly different terrain.

Since they are only open weekends(closed mon-wed), its a safe bet thur. and friday will be good guided. If the back Couloirs are skiing, a Heli bump($175) is worth a day at Vail in my opinion.
    Heli wasn't bad friday(1/25)

Definitely worth the price of admission. April 1, 2016 first lift day of season unguided was without doubt my best start to finish lift served day I have had.

Had hoped to make it this year, but float trip on the Green in May with the wife won out.

Hands down some of the best skiing around.
I used to go down every Christmas, i had the entire place to myself. All the lift access runs are incredible.
I was there on a Sunday, and there were 8 other people on the mountain. I guess that is why they dont do unguided in Dec anymore, just no skier turnout.

yeah, i’m expecting a few more on line that third weekend in march but stoked at how fat the base is getting.

3$ pints at the yurt, let’s party!

I’ll be there March 20-24th. You the same?

If there’s a mag meetup there was some renovated mining camp on Airbnb that slept a small army for cheap.

I met neufox47 and he mentioned this to me.

Coincidentally, my roadtrip's flexible itinerary puts me only 2 hours away at Telluride for March 18-24, so it seems like I should choose 1 day to hit Silverton...either to ski, or even just as a rest day to hangout at the base and experience the Silverton apres-ski vibe with y'all. Maybe Thurs Mar 21 after all you passholders track it up on the Wed "passholders only" day...or maybe a different day that weekend to time the conditions.

And my car will be full of huge skis for borrowing (the Ski Lending Library idea).
