my favorite spring touring ski I've ever been on. Turns out full reverse and stiff is $$ for a mid nineties underfoot touring ski

I have the BMT 109... they feel true to length when edged hard but can do the buttwiggle pretty easily... expecting the same here

Yeah, you'll get that exactly. When I had these skis my takeaway was that if I was ever relegated to one single pair of skis for touring (god forbid) these would be the skis. Good on hard snow, but not a fan of full rocker there. Kind of remarkably good for 94mm in powder. Never felt overwhelmed up to 12"+ of even wind affected snow.

Great skis. I am used to touring 105-110 skis as my spring ski, bought these on a whim a year or two ago (same place, also on the cheap).

These things are light (like 1550 in a 186) and ski shit snow surprisingly well. I bought them to be able to edge steep firm conditions easily and break the tails free with a heel flick. Does both. Very poppy when you start arcing them, making skiing firm quite enjoyable. I end up skiing on these much faster than I would have thought from the weight and shape

Do these still have the only use marker bindings or you’ll die warning?

Not sure. I planned to mount Vipecs.

(Also, potentially a few extra $ for shipping to AK)

No doubt. They used to have a sticker on the top sheet that said only to use marker bindings.

FWIW, I've been running Ions for the last 3 years on mine with no ill affects. 94's absolutely kick ass. Also FWIW, I've got mine mounted at -1 for a little extra love in 3D snow and would do it again. Still skis fine on firm as long as you stay on the front of them

I have skied these bmts without markers and they were fine-verts with epoxy. Truth is there is an H shaped metal reinforcement you can get the specs on which is the mounting reinforcement on the ski. As long as the screws mostly hit that you are fine.

Do it. They’re sweet. Though I mounted mine at -1 and think I may move to the line.

I have those in 176 and they’re great for spring but I wish I had put some race binding on them instead of the ions ... Now I’m not sure it’s possible / advisable to switch binding because of the « H » plate and hole conflicts ...

I have SSL 2.0 on BMT 90s. Not really a “race” binding. But same H plate. Things are on there bomber.

I hear you, I have some Raider 12 on my BMT 109 and no issues. But for the 94, switching from the ion to an ATK seems a bit borderline, there would be less than 10mm between the old and new holes, so I prefer not to do it.

That’s why I don’t use my BMT 94 much since with ion they weight the same as my BMT 109 with Raider.

Ah, nvm, didn’t catch the hole conflict part of that. Narrower mount platforms I don’t think are a huge deal, but hole conflicts matter regardless of the ski.
