Played row bitch for a couple buddies last week. Had a day for the books. Saw a bald eagle buzz a black bear on the bank, chukkar every where, turkeys, antelope, and an otter eating a fish. Had a quad hook up (net for front guy, back guy hooks up, net for him, front guy hooks up, net for him, back guy hooks up again). A couple minutes later got a double net.

I love that creek. I fished it 3 days, (not the whole day, but you know), and after 1 day, I was getting unrigged at the car after an all day hatch, and this guy pulls up and asked how I did, and I told him it was an awesome day, maybe had 15, and maybe 15 more LDR's etc. He got none, and asked if it's usually an evening bite. I just told him he picked one of the harder places to fish if you're not into matching the hatch and focusing on one fish. I told him some other places he might have better luck and what to do.

Looks like a fantastic trip! did you stay in Missoula proper? I have acquaintances who live here who bought a 2nd residence out there earlier this year. Just acquaintances, but enough connections (live 3-4 blocks away from me and one member of the couple was a high school friend of my wife) that I'm angling for an invite. The other member of the couple is the hard core angler. I think she spent the entire summer out there, with her partner going back and forth.

When we go to Missoula now we always stay at one of the franchise hotels, (typically off Reserve). We go there a lot.
