I got lucky this summer. These fish are so spooky especially in clear water. Figured I'd better get this while its still 2019.

Thank you. I am extraordinarily lucky to do that sort of fishing, and even luckier to be able to share it with my Dad. He still manages the boat pretty well, so hopefully we have a few more years left of fishing together.

Thats a nice poopfish. I was actually really bummed I couldnt fish for these guys this summer. Such a fun flats fish!

Is it still 2019? Ticked one off the list and fished the lake Powell tailwater. My boy caught three fish on his first 2 casts. Played pool with some nice Navajo ladies they smoked me. It's a nice place to visit

Still trying to figure out my way around this forum. But before year end wanted to share a few from 2019

Spring

Found a couple decent ones

Went on a river trip

Spent a week chasing big bugs. While the fishing was tough, I did manage to find a good one on the dry.

Bought a new boat which is perfect for pissing off entitled land owners.

Did some late summer backpacking where I swung mice for cutties

Finally, did some Fall fishing. It took me a while but I finally got a nice one.

Important: the deadline to weigh in on the Madison River shitshow is Jan 6th. You do NOT need to be a Montana resident to take the survey, as they point out that currently 75 percent of the anglers on the Madison are non-residents anyway, and they should have a say in this too. Also note: this only involves downstream from Quake Lake. So my favorite spot, Bakers Hole, is not part of this.

It is an interesting survey. They have put some thought into this. Not everyone will be happy. But as they note, angled numbers doubled in the last 10 years and are continuing to grow.
