No, I got it, I was just questioning it because there was no punchline. ;-)

Can I PM you about something tele related?

And nice episode. That's the thing why I went to AK twice...the combination of steep stuff and good snow. It's quite rare here. And I guess in the lower 48 as well.

I think it's also a nice demonstration of how important patience can be in the mountains. Don't push through bad conditions with exposed lines - wait for weather and snow to line up.

When Cody dropped in and that drone shot kicked in, it got an audible "oh fuck ya" out of me. For some reason that little bit of cinematography connected with something primal inside my loins.

Same, and I was thinking that a few of the frame grabs could be total cover shots on the Ski Journal or something.

I'd definitely like to but it's actually really difficult making them longer and keeping them engaging. You have to continually move through processes of mini-story arcs while building to the main story arc. As a filmmaker, when you're getting people say they want it longer, that means it was the perfect length. I always try to make the episodes as long as I can...but during the editing process you see all the slow spots, all the spots that are dragging and all the points where the episode crosses the very fine line between too short and too long. For instance, the first edit of this episode was over 20 minutes but really dragged until the last 5 minutes...so you cut and you cut and you cut until the point where many would say, "I want it longer".

15 minutes is pretty good imo! Seems like you're really nailing the format and length as suits the episodes. Thanks for a really entertaining series!

Our family waits till Friday night to watch these new episodes or whenever we can gather together. It is our prime time entertainment.

Cody reminds me of another athlete I know in a different sport. I'd been practicing with a local guy that was so full if himself I'm surprised he didn't explode, then went and paid to train with the best in the world for a few hours and he absolutely blew me away with his modesty the first time. The contrast was very disorienting at first.

I think that likeable, humble, relatable personality mixed with sometime plausible mountaineering adventures, and the sometimes long punishing slogs really sits well with us.

So yeah. Longer would be fine, but as pointed out, content is king.
