Haha yessir. Honestly the word on TGR isn’t all that good. Not sure if you read the old threads from 2 years ago but they gave away defective skis and didn’t make it right with the recipient.
I have never skied them but with so many other amazing “local” companies here in the US I never found a reason to give their skis a go. I am intrigued by this ski :: https://rmuoutdoors.com/collections/...-pro-model-118

Worst construction/QC I have ever seen was on an RMU YLE on the rack at evo. Literally bubbles in the sidewall material.

RMU contracts their ski construction, does not make skis. On the other hand Moment in Sparks NV (Reno) makes all their own skis and has enough models that if you can't find what you want in their product line you don't need it. Moment's CEO monitors this board and regularly gives info, feedback, advice, recommendations etc etc. Give them a look.

Search will turn up plenty of horror stories... the summary is consistently inconsistent quality and shitty management unwilling to make things right when they fucked up.
I'd add RMU to that thread about company boycotts.

I reviewed a RMU Apostle as a media sample. As delivered new in plastic the bases were round. Even after a major tune my overall impression was Meh

I remember that now, bases so rough one could break their wrist running a hand over the base
I wondered about your ski choice but as your faithful yellow chauffeur I said nothing ... shut up n drive eh
The only thing i could figure is that you must be an exceptionally devoted member of the media cuz In such a huge pow cycle it was like bringing a nail file to a gun fightLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

IIRC, Iggy said they ordered from factories all over the globe. Some were from swedish factory, some were from Moment, some were from Utopie, etc.

I am the guy that found a sheet of RMU graphics used as packing material in a shipment of skis from Moment. My recollection was that Moments said they had made a small quantity of skis for RMU. I have never seen a Moment skis looked like the photo posted above and Moment quality has not been a subject that I recall.

Åre Skifabrik - the swedish ski factory that makes the Apostle,Rippah and YLE models, is usually known for both good quality construction, QC and QA. The three skis I've bought that were made there were high quality skis.
Iggy found the last photo a bit funny - all posted by ExtremHakan, an employee at the aforementioned factory (Extrem being their inhouse brand of skis) on Instagram.

Wow. Fuck them if they really put "Handmade in N. America" on skis made in Sweden.
Nothing against the Swedes. They probably make killer skis, and the finish on those looks $$. But fuck a company that does that.
Fuck "lifestyle" brands in general.

skis are made allover the world in ski making factories,
aren't they just made them according to the ski making customer's spec?
so if the ski customer ( lets say RMU ) specs shit the factory makes shit ?
the point i'm getting at is that its not necessarily the manufacterers fault if they were paid to make a piece of shitLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
