I was planning on the Raid Lamoille but then I saw on the website they "require" riders average 14 mph but its not a race (?). I'm still interested in doing it but will be that guy in baggies bringing up the tail end.

How about the VT Rooted ride in August? 85 miles of pain. I'm signed up but need more long rides for prep.

Is there some reason why a small handlebar bag costs so damn much? I only have one jersey with pockets and really don't like when my food and phone are all sweaty during a ride so I thought the burrito bag might be a decent choice. But $70?

    C'mon.

Yeah, no. As to the pace- whatevs. I can't imagine they'll make you drop unless you're doing the long ride. That said, I will surely be slower than you sir

And if you love pain, consider this: https://www.bikereg.com/42990

There is a reason only 2 people are signed up for the DP, it’s stupid!
For real anything past 3 and 1/2 hours of pedaling is just not fun.
Come on down to southern VT for a great ride and even better cause.

The stem bags and the handlebar bag are sufficient for what you're looking for, some of the bigger ones like the top tube bag or even a frame bag are good for when you need more for stuff like a windbreaker or rain gear. https://www.serfas.com/product-categ...oduct_count=36 This is pretty useful too https://www.zeitbike.com/collections...16156494200875 (10% off with code TH10)

14 mph average means only the top 129 of 590 who finished last years Overland would qualify.

Goniff and I committed to the Bike and Brew this weekend at Killington, Let's Party!

Good short grind tonight base to the Rock > Gatehouse down. Two steep pitches required short walks and plenty of loose rubble to slog up.

Woohoo! Another 1.6" of rain today (so far) and it's still raining steadily. I think the next sunny day is supposed to be Saturday If Sunday at Citi Field for the Dead is nice I'll be sort of alright with having put up with the week where it rained every day.

I think you have a crowler in that pack. Looking like a nice day for Saturday downhilling weather wise although up to two inches of rain will make for some mud holes in places.

Cool Fisheye. 2nd on the humids, was almost too muggy to ride. Rain on the way with the high end forecast saying 3+ by Friday morning. We'll see, I'm taking the under.

I'm feeling the sendy flow. Minimal rocks compared to the terrain I ride in eastern Ma.

From the Summit to Kingston is pretty great right now.....or at least yesterday. Trees are thirsty, things should be looking good come Monday. Laps, show ya around if you need a guide.

This is the newer stuff down to Kingston Rd with Pony Express spliced in. About half the run off the summit and down the east side of Paine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyVBxYBT-6A

Doing some promotion here for my co-worker who organizes this gravel ride every year. Proceeds go to the Cabot, VT youth mentoring program. I did the 100 km last year and it was amazing. Stellar scenery, rugged course, supported rest stops and wood fired pizza and beer afterwards. Also, free tech support from the local shop here in town.

I did this ride last year on Hank's recommendation and it was awesome. Like a low key, totally laid back rasputista, with awesome cheese and pizza at the end.

    ^^^Innerested, gracias.

Just took a walk through Sherburne trails with the pooch- things drained VERY well. I was amazed, like mere hours after the rain stopped. Using that as a barometer- tomorrow should be nice and dry around these parts- especially K. Have an awesome weekend all, things are setting up nice!

VTfree and Goniff, Sunday is the day for me- morning at Snowshed and then Krusty, Krusty, Krusty! Let's party.
