Warranty frame from Jamis, built up and ready to rip! Can’t say enough about Jamis and their warranty crew. I dragged a rock into the non-drive side, seat stay, at the Dirty Pizza last year. Mid-Modulus Carbon. It cracked almost all the way through, but I was close to the finish and rode it in. Sent the frame back, and they sent the last frame they had by UPS, frame never showed. Box was destroyed somehow and they sent it back to Jamis. So Jamis sent me a Reynolds 631 frame to use as a loner, till this years stuff began to ship. Which i actually loved, little heavy, but great feel.

19 NE - It's all up from here

Thanks, it’s a good looking bike. Hit 52mph on it today, coming down a long steep paved section, felt like I was going 30, bike likes going fast! Perfect dirt now, everything’s been graded and it’s rained a few times.

That's purty! And awesome move by Jamis.
Spent the afternoon chilling and prepping bikes. Love tearing things apart, lubing, adjusting and riding up and down the hill checking shit out.

A couple buddies and I did the W.A.T.A. Gravel Grinder on Saturday, then the Lawson's Crank de Mayo on Sunday. WATA put on an awesome event per usual - the 40 mile course was a nice change from last year - almost all dirt/class IV roads and a few long sections of legit. muddy, rocky, rooty trails that were a blast on a drop bar bike with fat tires. There was also plenty of beer, whiskey and jello shots at every aid station to mask the pain of 4.5k ft. of climbing. The after party was solid too with tacos and and all kinds different local beer I'd never had before. Tons of local support too with people along the route banging cowbells and handing out snacks and beer.

The Cranko was lower key with about half the number of riders. The course was little shorter (31 mi., 4k ft. of up) but climbs were long and brutal. There were 2, 800ft-ish climbs that were absolute sufferfests. They made up for it by mixing in a super rocky, techy trail section towards the end just as you were too exhausted to pedal. After party at Lawson's was quiet, a couple of Super Sessions were a great way to end the ride.

I planned on taking more pics but we we're trying to not stop and just hammer the rides out.

I'm fucking smoked this morning. Local trails are all opening up today and I need to find the energy to pedal some mtb this afternoon.

So fucking stoked the sun is out, trails are drying and bike season is full on right now.

Jamis bikes warranty service is da bomb. I had a steel hardtail that was over ten years old and was rusty on the inside, fell on a rock and poked a hole in the chainstay. They sent me a brand new Dragon 853 tubing frame.

You know the right answer? N+1 Don't want to ride your carbon whip on salty roads, do you?

We also spent some time Sunday discussing The Ranger. Butta, Biggins and myself are returning and looking at some Mags to join us. Peruvian, you know you want to! And expect to see Train07 there as well.
There will be whiskey and beer along with Tacos and Pizza and a couple of good bands. The Valleys around Tunbridge are really beautiful and have an old Vermont feel to them. But they are unmercifully steep.

    Let's Party!

Hitting freshly dumped 3/4 minus on 28mm tires is dicey as fuck. Not that the freshly graded roads were any better.

    From this evening.

We will be at 26 consecutive days when that rain gets here this afternoon. Our previous all time record was 13 or 14. Go big or go home This is crazy, I think it's 15 out of 16 months of avg to well above avg precip. That nearly 5 week dry spell last year is the only time it hasn't been soggy.

I'm hearing that the local trails are decent in a lot of spots, it sounds like the ground has accepted all it can so everything else is just running off now. I haven't been riding much since the HA but have been hiking a lot and it seems that every low spot is a marsh but otherwise it's just endless ribbons of softness. My new e-mtb is on the way so it won't be long now and I can get out and do some real low stress on the heart riding

Well the Darling Hill KT's opened this past weekend even though most everything still has a serious case of damp.

In the meantime I sold my 15y.o. mountain bike at the local bike swap. Now I have nothing to ride. The bike swap didn't have anything that fit my tall ass (I'm 6'4"). So now I'm in the market for a XL framed 29'r. Since I've kind of been out of riding for the last 7-8 years I've kind of lost track of what brands/models are good for someone my size. I'm getting back into now that my kids are old enough to ride the trails. Any of you have any recommendations for east coast style trails (since I'm next door to the KT's I'll likely be riding around there the most)?

Restrictions: I'd like to not have to choose between paying my mortgage and paying for a bike.

I will be on the short course (shame), but will cheer you all (including wifey) after you complete the full Ranger. Getting stoked just the same. Grindage!

Wifey is doing the long course for Ranger, I'll be doing the kids ride with the little ones. The long course is a fun one!

Stellar day on the bike Sunday exploring outside Boston. Initial plan was to take the commuter train out to wachusett and ride trails home but iffy weather made us think twice. Looped our Belmont on the Western Greenway through prospect park out to Jericho and Ogilvie town forest and trails in Lincoln. Back in via Reformatory Branch and the singletrack off the minuteman. ID:	281842 Weather was perfect, didn’t rain, and woods were empty. New little roadrunner bag was super handy—so nice not having stuffed pockets.
