I have seen this question asked several times with no answers
you could try freezing them which might make the glue easier to physically remove, you could try ski base cleaner which is orange based now days or solvent but whatever you use
look out for the glue side

mass airflow cleaner (ether) dissolves the crap out of it, going to take a lot of rags

While i'm here and thinkin' about it...did a split skin project two days ago and figured out something kinda important. Had to trim skins narrower AND cut off about 10cms per skin to fit shorter skis. Keep the cut off bits and use em as farms for spare skin glue for future 'skin glue refresh' and touch ups. Used the hot air gun/spatula and scraped glue off of the 'junker' bits and applied to/touched up the new leading edges of the skins. Bomber grip when tested yesterday; no snow build up under lateral/leading edge front area of skin...a common problematic area.
You think about the fact that a lot of useful skin glue gets chucked in the garbage at ski shops after they cut/trim skins....reduce, reuse, reskiycle.Master of mediocrity.

a tube of gold label is 15$, it will last for years unopened so I always stock a couple
Try folding skins glue to glue once as normal and then rolling them up, IME it saves a lot of room
you go from trying to cram all the skins in the bag to the bag being only 2/3rds fullLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

Another spot to harvest spare skin glue from is from under the center strip of fabric meant to reduce the effort of pulling skins apart when stored glue to glue. Use hot air gun to slightly warm, then pull off the strip. Heat the metal spatula with hot air gun and scrape what u need for touch ups. If u gots long skins, prolly half a tube of gold label, $7ish bux worth of glue stored right there on the skins, XXX'er.

I guess if yer a guy that ski tours < 50 days a year in the ideal winter climate of the B.V. or sumthin'. Crank that numbr up to >100 in a transitional climate zone with lots of warm/hot days in the spring and summer and yer lookin' at creative solutions to extreme end of the bell curve issues. Put that in yer half baked ideas pipe and smoke it, pal. There is no 'doing it right the first time', 'cause half way through the season, the 'first time' measures' end, and ya gotta touch up. Come april, may and june with the infiltration of forest gunk, tree branch needles and old man's beard yer gonna wanna refresh the skinz. No need to waste prime $ gold label if u don't need to. IMHO.

General question: Who puts their skins in a bag for day tours...aside from maybe the deep freezer for summer storage? Just stuff 'em in da pack, willy nilly, who gives a.f. ? Don't know about u, but i'm not storing loose toilet paper at top of pack to contaminate skins....it's jacket, h2o bottle, or gloves or sumthin'....nuthin there to contaminate the glue. Just stuff 'em in! Jacket pockets, pack, looped around hip belt of pack, flappin' in the wind like a flag of freedom.

forget the bag then,
even if you don't use the bag rolling your skins will still take up less room
the extra amount of room in the bag was just a way to measure volumeLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
