Spent about 20 minutes on the phone with Fasa from Moment (great guy) discussing the same thing.
At that weight the regular layup should be fine for short tours, especially at the 181 length.

Melee, any updates for cores next year? Will everything be the same? Or are you using different woods?

My daughter is in need of some new skis and demo'd Sierras at Big Sky last week. She loved them - perfectly fit her style (I also love my DW!). I wanted to buy the demo skis, but the shop had someone else who has dibs. Bummer. I've been looking for a used pair of 162s (new is not in the budget right now, unfortunately), but not having a lot of luck. Any suggestions for a similar ski? Kinda playful and pivoty for bumps and trees but able to hold an edge? The dirty mustache is such a unique thing, its hard for me to tell what a decent alternative might be without having her demo them (which isn't in the cards this season). Any suggestions would be appreciated... or any leads on used 162s in good shape. Thanks!

I can't find it now but I could have sworn Melee said all men's cores are switching to ash. Anyone else remember it or am I making shit up?

Blister seems a little obsessed with the heavy side of things lately. I've come to really appreciate lighter skis - in tight or steep spots they're a hell of a lot easier to swing around, especially later in the day when your legs are tired. Some of these new skis coming out that weigh 2500+ grams... no thanks.

Which core did the Wildcat 108's get?

Rossi Black Ops... Okay, I guess they're just under 2500 but close enough. https://blisterreview.com/gear-revie...-black-ops-118

Really like the grain texture on these top sheets. Anxious to get them on snow. Just in time for corn season.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Ditto, if a ski is too light I have to use more energy to keep it under control at speed.
