Need to adopt the motto “every turn is a sign of weakness” when you step into your bindings and then they will come in handy

Going to grab a pair of commander 92s since I have no sub-100 skis.
I’ve been skiing pivots exclusively for the past 5+ years. Thinking about trying the Salomon Strives to save some cash. Any thoughts/opinions on this setup?

I ski almost exclusively pivot 15/18. Decided to throw some strive 16’s on my deathwish 104 since I got a really good deal. I’ve been nothing but happy with them. That being said if the price was close I’d go with pivots over the strives. How much savings are you talking about?

If you are paying more than $250 for Pivots (new) you are doing it wrong. Between Corbetts, euro shops and TGRz, I've never paid more than that the past few years. Just stock up when they are on sale and stash a pair or two in your garage for when you need them.

either one is going to rip Tahoe conditions. It’s more a matter if you want a little more chargy directional ski or a little more playful progressive ski. You might get a tad more versatility with the DW on those really firm/icy days. I absolutely love my dw104 in Tahoe and I’d love to grab a CT 104. I just know on a regular basis I prefer a more progressive mount than a more directional mount. Already having a CT110 and the dw104 it just doesn’t make sense for my quiver. Too much overlap at that point.

DW104 is my go-to work ski right now. It never feels out of its element. Something I can't say about a lot of skis that are as playful as the DW is. Tons of edge hold in shit fuck conditions. Can be bent into almost any turn shape. Floats pretty darned well for a 104. Hauls the mail when you point them down hill.
I'd love to ski the CT104, but I have a hard time believing it would replace the DW for my style.
FWIW, I skied the Blade Optic 114 a ton last year. I'm not in love with it. I can't totally put my finger on why. I prefer the DW112 for almost anything. The BO wasn't as damp as I'd hoped, nor did it float as well as I'd like. I didn't think it was as playful as the DW, either. I did think it was a very stable ski. I never doubted having them on my feet when I was on top of a big line.

On DW vs CT I just picked up a CT110 to replace my aging (~~200 days) DW112 that seems destined for rock duty by the end of this coming season. Deathwish has been my Washington daily for several years, and chair 6 hasn't been kind to it.
Going to have both mounted and get some days out on them back/back. Won't be totally fair since the DW cores are beat. I've got a pair of commander 98s that come out on firmer days, so outside of travel the deathwishes don't realistically see a lot of true firm snow. Figure I'm probably giving up a little versatility in that direction for a little more stability charging in better snow/chop, which is more how I ski the DW anyways. Will report back once I have a number of days on the CT. Worst case, I'm buying another pair of DW112 by the end of the season.
