Bozeman Dining Suggestions
Hello folks,
I am staying with some friends in Bozeman next week and I would like to repay their hospitality with a nice dinner out. Any suggestions on a nice place to take a relatively health-conscious couple to dinner?Fighting leads to killing, and killing gets to warring. And that was damn near the death of us all.

Haha. Chicken fried steaks and bloodies.
Open range and saffron table are delicious.

Sushi might be your best option. Dave's, Montana Fish Co., or Sashimi if you're feeling really nice. Saffron is a decent recommendation, I would also consider Copper Whiskey Bar is good but I'm not sure how "conscious" their menu is as I never really focused on that. Open Range seems to sprinkle about a half-cup of salt over all their food so maybe not the best place for healthy eating. Lastly, I've heard good things about Bisl but have never been.
It sucks to suck.

Stacy's out at Gallatin Gateway has the best deal in the valley on steaks if you're into that. http://www.staceysbar.com It's not the nicest place around but solid food and an authentic Montana steakhouse.

Go to Blackbird, don't mess around with anything else in town.
Plonk has a decent selection of vegetarian/vegan options as well if that's a concern.
Sashimi is the only place worth getting sushi, it depends how you feel about seafood in Montana.
Get drinks at Open Range, at the bar only.
PM me if you need more info, I worked in downtown BZN to have enough opinions that I don't want to post publicly.

Be careful with the one way streets that run parallel to the main St., Especially if blinded by a snow event while toasted. Trust me, Benny came close to jail and bail on that one.

Bucks T4 at the really Big.
The Viking and I had discussed driving down the canyon to Stacy's but if I remember correctly the consensus was we were hungry and we were going to eat right now.
I have friends that make equal arguments for Stacy's, Sir Scott's, or Land of Magic being the most authentic in the area. I would contend that it's best to make friends with the daughter of a rancher.

The new owners of the Mint in Belgrade are trying to return it to it's former glory.

"Trying". I wish them luck but the two times I went in since the new owners it was subpar service and the food was meh. Maybe it's gotten better lately.
And FTR I just go to open range for a couple drinks and apps at the bar despite the oh so ironic hipster bullshit.
I'd also agree about the Stacey's, land of magic, oasis arguement. I just hit Stacey's cuz its closest to me and I can get there on dirt.
