The sea was wet as wet could be,
The sands were dry as dry.
You could not see a cloud, because
No cloud was in the sky:
    No birds were flying overhead--
There were no birds to fly.

    The Walrus and the Carpenter
    Were walking close at hand;
They wept like anything to see
    Such quantities of sand:
"If this were only cleared away,"
They said, "it would be grand!"

"If seven maids with seven mops
Swept it for half a year.
Do you suppose," the Walrus said,
"That they could get it clear?"
"I doubt it," said the Carpenter,
    And shed a bitter tear.

it's weird how more maggots don't kitesurf. It's the most fun you can have on water, frozen or not. I plan on travelling in Brasil more in the future. I learned the language and was on my way to becoming an ex pat. Bought a condo on the beach , registered my marriage to a brasilian (still married there, divorced in the US but still great friends. ) Brazil is a great place to get old. I hope they figure it out, the place is not doing well these days

Couldn't agree more. Water is all good, especially the warm kind and windsports are less fickle than the search for powder. I really enjoyed Brazil, amazing beauty, goof value for money, and a genuinely lively culture. Already planning going back next November!

I'm in that demographic. It took a ton of practice to get good at jibing and ripping around on a 90 liter board on a 4.0
but kitesurfing is even more fun. Most of my old poleboarding buds have gone to the dark side but I'll always have a special place for windsurfing. Just like my passion for skiing and skating led me to snowboarding, windsurfing led me to kiting. I never got that rush from surfing or wakeboarding, not even close.

I agree with the above. Kite is very fun; but give me a 25knots and a 4 foot swell on a 90ltr board and a 4.5 Combat any day of the week!

prolly one of the best TRs I've seen on TGR. Chasing pow is just like chasing wind and waves. Finding the butter flat lagoons with chest high ocean swell right next to it, it's insane. what a planet ! The coast of Brasil just outside Fortaleza is incredible. Thanks for sharing all this. gets me so stoked for another trip.

South of Fortaleza at Caponga is a good beach for kiting.

Thanks WilliWhit! I cannot agree more; it's all the same. The journey, the wind, the snow, the people that you meet in far away places... Just the best - as you said - "what a planet!". Obrigado my friend!

Unbelievable. I had the privilege of visiting Brazil in spring 2018, and I tell Americans that it's difficult to appreciate how huge and the diverse the country is. I think that we flew from Rio to NYC, and after four hours in flight, we were STILL over Brazilian airspace.
